Creative Leadership
7-week guided coaching program for fellow creatives with options to grow in 1:1 or group-based sessions.
So what exactly does it mean to …
think like a Creative Leader?
Designers have spent far too long just being the “creative ones,” the quirky artists, make-things-pretty types, who can fix it in post, be out-the-box thinkers or, my personal favorite, simply the graphics person.
As creatives, we have a unique ability to not only see things differently but the skill to visualize it and make it a reality. ‘Tis a gift. Creative minds continue to become more and more prominent in business settings because companies are finally seeing their ability to not only visually appeal to an audience but also empathize and connect with them. Creatives can take a product or service and make it approachable, likable and useful; I mean who doesn’t want that. Whether you’re part of a team, run your own agency or a solopreneur, it’s time you start thinking like a creative leader.
What we’ll work on together.
Connect to your purpose.
Everyone talks about “purpose” but rarely lives it. We are inundated with how to’s and experiences that are aimed at “finding” your purpose, but the truth is it’s already in you, you just haven’t connected to it yet. Your purpose is nestled somewhere between where you’re most vulnerable and what fulfills you at the core. Connecting to your purpose is a personal journey that takes commitment, understanding, a willingness to explore who you really are.
Define your goals.
It’s no secret that as humans we enjoy looking forward, planning, building, and completing something. Whether it be an experience like taking a trip or something attainable like receiving a degree, we take pride in what we anticipate and complete. Life is no different. Your career, relationships (to self and others) and personal achievements all require dedication and strategy. If you don’t define the life you want, others will define it for you. You can start small, but always start.
Build relationships.
Whether personal or professional, we are constantly building, nurturing and participating in relationships. It is our greatest life’s work to surround ourselves with people that support, respect, and care for us. We need each other and hey that’s totally ok! We learn from each other and grow in ways that on our own we’d never imagine, it’s part of what makes being human such a blessing. Building relationships takes patience, understanding and trust (along with a slew of other giving qualities), but the most important is empathy.
Develop your strategy.
This program is about thinking like a creative leader. What kind of leader would you be if you didn’t have a strategy? You have to set goals and have ways to measure them, literally business 101. Once you’ve connected to your purpose, defined your goals and learned how to be a better partner in your relationships, you owe it to yourself (and your proverbial team) to become the leader you’ve set out to be. With a solid foundation in place, your strategy becomes your roadmap to your goals.

FAQs
How long does the course take?
The course is 7-weeks long. Its daily Monday through Thursday assignments are structured so that it can easily fit within your (most likely) already active lifestyle. We check in at the end of each week via email to recap your week on a personal level and we have a Friday 45-minute group video call to discuss the lessons, answer any questions you may have and talk about further learning opportunities.
What’s your refund policy?
Unfortunately the content can’t be returned. Ugh I know! It’s just part of everything being digital nowadays. I can promise you that the course is designed to be a personal experience, a journey. You get out of it what you’re willing to put in. If you have the intention to learn and grow, I can assure you that will happen. No matter if you decide to stay exactly where you are at the end of it, personally you will experience a shift that leads you there. I am of course happy to answer any questions you have prior to registering, which is why I’ve made this course application based. I want to ensure that each person interested in this opportunity is a good fit for the program.
Do I need to live in New Orleans or Los Angeles?
Nope. Everything is completely online and can be completed from anywhere in the world. We just need to be mindful of timezones.
How many people are in each group?
Each 7-week cohort contains no more than 6 people at one time. This way I can focus on each participant and individually respond to them with my fullest attention and care.
How long are each of the assignments?
The assignments vary in length. Some will take longer due to the big thinking and exploration they require. Keep in mind, it’s totally fine to revisit some of the exercises (and actually preferred) to make sure you’re 100% on board with your answers. I do suggest that these are completed daily and not in one sitting. Part of the structure of the course is to allow a proper amount of time to weigh out your thoughts and efforts. You are not the same person every day and it’s important to consider the decisions you make from day to day to make sure it’s truly something you want.
What happens if I need to miss a call?
Life happens. I get it! If you miss a scheduled group call, I allow a one-time reschedule of 30 mins time for a one-on-one. Part of the commitment to this is the commitment to yourself. I want you to grow and learn because you want this, not because you feel you have to. Honestly, the only way you actually make a change is if you want it. Your effort and ability to show up is entirely up to you.
Interested in one-on-one?
Groups aren’t for everyone. The course can be pretty personal and uncover some mindset challenges that maybe you don’t want to share. I get that. If you work better in a one-on-one environment I do offer individual mentorship to a select few to ensure you get the most out of your 7-weeks. Once you’ve completed the application and expressed interest in a more individualized approach to the program, we can schedule an intro call to discuss the fit.
